Previous works Lucy made with the Alderbook Dance group were Caterpillar Ride performed at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield in 2017 and Fly High and Touch the Sky performed at Deda, Derby in 2018.

Caterpillar Ride emerged though a collaboration between choreographer and dancers over a number of weeks. Through tasks, structured improvisations, exploration, games and discussion the piece has been brought to life and shows the dancers working together as a unit, at times as one living breathing organism.

Fly High and Touch the Sky came from the idea of Peter Pan, Lost boys, Tinkerbell’s and never growing up. It involved journeying to Neverland, open skies, far off horizons and searching for our 2nd star to the right. It is a magical look at that journey and anyone who we may meet along the way. This piece is dedicated to the memory of Kathryn Morgan.
